the reason some people complain about excessive violence on tv is exactly because of the fact that there is such a great variety of programs on tv, but people in general are enamoured with violence, because it stimulates our primal instincts of fear and keeps us glued to our seats, so broadcasters tend to focus on violent material, whatever the subject matter happens to be.
